Super 8mm Film Transfers - Conversions

FXF is an enhancement that enures greater colour saturation and colour temprature accuracy and is only available for Avid Tech the super 8 guys.

How it Works:

Film is transported without sprockets to protect you films

Each frame of super 8 or 8mm film is captured directly from the film surface

and as there is no film gate masking the frame there is up to 25% greater image area

available.

Frame By Frame

Each frame is captured edge to frame edge for the ultimate in small format transfers.

This isnt an ordinary transfer nor is there any mirror or convex lens used.

No halogen or hot lamps which means no hot spots, in fact no lamp or globe is used at all, just an evenly lit LED array ensures even lighting edge to edge.

Why do Avid Tech disclose thier equipment and tramsfer method?

Good question:

There are many web sites that make ridiculous claims and one or two that will even tell you it is none of your business or that they do not want competitors trying to duplicate

what they do. This is absolute nonsense. What are they hiding from you?

Here is the truth- believe it or not

Very few companies can actually afford to buy this equipment as the that is only the start of a huge investment in PC's and software and storage systems that will cost tems of thousabds, let alone aquiring the knowledge or ability to do this type of exotic film transfer.

What we think:

We think too many people are paying a lot of money for a projected type of transfer

that simply can not match frame by frame and often at greater cost than a quality frame capture transfer.

We think that you as the consumer has a right to know what you are paying for.

If some one has something to hide and won't tell you what you are paying for we think you should move on, there are a lot of cliams made so do choose wisely.
